Student loans give financial assistance to those that need it. Financial Aid and other school loans depend on what tax bracket you or your families are in. There is usually a small interest rate charged by the government or lending institution that issued the loan. The loan or the interest does not have to be paid back until after you graduate.
Most college students in North America get loans to take care of their tuition and housing. Students have to become financially independent, since the cost of living is so high in North America. Many students get part time jobs during college and start to pay back their debt after graduation.
It's all worth it when they finally accomplish what they set out to achieve.

Asking for a school loan

  1. I need a school loan.

‘loan'除了‘贷款',最直接的意思是‘暂借',固定的搭配有‘have a loan of sth.'或是‘take a loan of sth.'。比如刚拿到驾照却苦于无车可开的你就可以这么向朋友说:“May I take loan of your car for the morning ? I hope to buy something at Carrefour.”(今天早上能借你的车吗? 申请贷款可以说‘ask for a loan',而贷款给某人则可以说‘make a loan to sb.'。
  2. We will notify you when it comes in.

它的具体用法是‘notify sb. of sth.'(将某件事情通知某人)或‘notify sb. to do sth.'(通知某人去做某件事情)。当你的老板催你通知其他人员开会,你可以说:“I have notified them to meet in the conference room at 10 am.
  3. Fill out these Financial Aid papers.

‘fill in'和‘fill out'都可以表示‘填写某些表格'。 当我们说‘一张纸',要说‘a piece of paper',‘两张纸'则是‘two pieces of paper'。而这里‘papers'可不是纸张的复数,它的意思是‘文件',例如:“My secretary has brought some papers for me to sign.”(我的秘书拿来些文件让我签字)。
  4. Here's a package on our Work Study Program!

‘package'是‘包裹'的意思,‘a package of books'指‘一包书',‘a small package of cigarettes'是‘一小包烟'。
  5. Sorry, you aren't qualified to apply for these loans.

  Borrowing some money

  6.I'm broke.

”,但却不能说:“I am a broke man.”。
  7. Can I borrow 50 dollars until tomorrow?

比如‘borrow you 50 yuan'是‘向你借50元',而‘lend you 50 yuan'则是‘借给你50元'。 举个例子吧:“He didn't come back till/until Friday.”(他直到周五才回来)。
  8. Will you definitely pay it back tomorrow?

  9.I can swing that.

  这句话的意思就相当于“I can do that.”或者“I can handle that.”,意思是“我能办到”。
  10. I'll give it to you first thing tomorrow morning.

  More Fantastic Sayings
1.I'd like to borrow some money from you.
2.Can you give me a loan?
  3.Can you spare some cash?
  4.Can you spot me a 20?
5.Could I bum some money off you?
  6. Can I use your car for a couple of hours?

  Modern structure
1.Somebody needs something. (I need a school loan.)
则有两种情况:‘need something'或者‘need to do something',前者中的‘need'是实义动词(如 want或try),后者中的‘need'则是情态动词(如can或 may)。
  I need a cup of coffee.(我需要一杯咖啡。)
She needs to go right now, doesn't she?
  Yes, she does.(是的,她得走。)
  2. Can somebody do something? (Can I borrow 50 dollars until tomorrow?)

一般陈述句则应用“Somebody can do something.”,它的否定形式则是‘cannot do something'。
  I can do it well.(我能做得很好。)
  I cannot leave without her.(我不能不跟她一起走。)
Can you tell me the truth?
  3. Somebody is qualified to do something. (You aren't qualified to apply for these loans.)

I'm qualified to apply for the job.(我有资格申请这个工作。)
She is not qualified to enter this university.(她没有资格进这所大学。)
Is he qualified to say so?
  4. Here is/are something. (Here's a package on our Work Study Program!)

  Here is an example.(这里有一个例子。)
Here are some files for you.(这儿有一些文件给你。)
Here is a letter for Tom.(这儿有Tom的一封信。)
