Pink, the fluffy(绒毛似的,柔软的) epitome(象征,缩影) of all that is feminine(妇女的,女性的). It’s a refined(精确的,精制的), romantic combination of red and white, evoking(v.唤起,引起) softness and delicacy(微妙).
Whilst red is brave, pink quietly blushes. A subtle(隐晦的,微妙的) colour, pink has a remarkable range, which takes it all the way from salmon(鲑鱼色,鲜肉色) to raspberry(覆盆子) and to the palest shell pink. It can parade(炫耀) its prettiness shyly, and it’s no coincidence that so many of its hues refer to nature.
One of its strengths is its quiet living vibrancy(振动,活跃). Pink is synonymous(同义的) with flesh, offering a subtle, even sub-conscious, sex appeal.
For interiors, pink is one of the easiest colours to live with. It’s emotionally soothing(抚慰的,使人宽心) and has long been popular in floral(花的) material, but has recently reinvented itself as a decorating colour in its own right – combining the excitement and strength of red with the softness of white. It can be neutral and natural, but it can also make a statement many would want to avoid.
