Suicide Bomber Attack Kills 7 in Ingushetia
Russian officials say a suspected suicide car bomber has killed seven people in the Republic of Ingushetia, including a senior law enforcement official. Ingushetia's Deputy Interior Minster, Dzhabrail Kostoyev, died in the attack Wednesday morning near Nazran, the region's main city.
Officials say the bomber blew up his vehicle as a convoy passed taking Kostoyev to work. The attack also killed two bodyguards and four civilians. Militants had tried to kill Kostoyev before. He was wounded last August when attackers detonated a land mine as his car was passing. Ingushetia has been plagued by violence in recent years, some of which has spilled over from neighboring Chechnya.
