Bands don't usually have to reinvent themselves after just one album. But that's the position Blindspott are in after the death of nu-metal left them in no-man's land.

Like it or not, Blindspott's triple-platinum debut was a nu-metal album. Based on hip-hop hooks and atmospherics provided by the band's DJ, it sat squarely alongside Korn, Deftones and - dare we say it - Limp Bizkit.

But times have changed. For End the Silence, Blindspott's DJ has left the band and the hip-hop influences are gone. They've been replaced by a traditional metal sound providing some severely brutal moments.

然而斗转星移，到了《结束沉默》这张新专辑时，Blindspott's DJ搓盘手已经离开了乐队，嘻哈影响也已不复存在。传统金属伴随着兽性野蛮之声取而代之。

Drown's claustrophobic rumblings, Coma's vitriolic chorus and the frenetic assault of Away From Me are perfect mosh pit fodder and show Swedish producers Pelle Henrickson and Eskil Lovestrom have honed the band into a formidable metal unit.

歌曲“溺水”中幽闭症般的隆隆作响、“昏迷”中尖锐狠毒的合音及在“离开我”中狂热的攻击都是完美的实现现场撞人的曲目，同时这些歌也显示出来自瑞典的制作人Pelle Henrickson和Eskil Lovestrom已经将这些乐队打磨成为一支令人生畏的金属组合。

But it's the quieter moments - like Anika Moa's guest-spot on the ballad Lull, and the album closer Pray For Me - that leave a lasting impression. They provide welcome relief from front man Damian Alexander's screaming sessions and prove Blindspott won't go the way of those other nu-metal drones.

但正是安静的片刻——如同在Anika Moa的民谣演出时作为嘉宾表演的曲目一样，专辑结束曲“为我祈祷”给人留下久远的印象。这让主唱/灵魂人物Damian Alexander在嘶吼之余有了片刻的放松，也证明了Blindspott不会与那些新金的懒汉一样殊途同归。
